Bewilderment Cards

£20.00

Kitchen Table Photo Club presents Bewilderment Cards, a series of photographic playing cards and prompts made by local kids with Esther and old analogue cameras.

A loose, informal gathering of people, Kitchen Table Photo Club meets to play with photography, have conversations and be social. It began in the heart of the home around a fire and kitchen table. Since then, its ideas, photographs and cohorts have visited local people, parks and graveyards, while running exhibitions in cafes and on the streets in Lockleaze and St Paul’s Adventure Playground.

Over #COVID-19 lockdowns, KTPC sent out bespoke Community Art Packages for locals stuck inside. Households received boxes and baskets of props, costumes and half-frame analogue cameras, alongside hand-drawn cards of mangled archetypal characters and symbols to make new photographs from. Added to these care packages were crowns and masks made by women in the community, embedding them with special powers.

Bewilderment Cards come from exploring the common places we inhabit on a regular basis, to see what might be unveiled if we listen with deer ears, sense the soil beneath feet and the vast universe above.

These limited edition cards include 49 x photo cards, 19 x hand drawn prompts and 1 x instructions.
